The Director Corps Mobilisation, National Youth Service Corps Mrs Victoria Ango, has called on the 2019 Batch C Stream I Corps members deployed to Gombe State to remain focused and not allow themselves to be used as political thugs.
She stated this on saturday when she visited the orientation camp at Amada, Gombe state to interact with the Corps members.
Mrs Ango noted that corps members must integrate with the people of their host Communities and learn the Norms and culture of the people.
“When you are in Rome , behave as the Romans . You must do away with late night outings and indecent dressing. I urge you to be of good behaviour wherever you find yourselves, as Ambassadors of your families and Institutions. If you must travel, seek for permission through the proper channel, travel when it is necessary she said.
In the same vein the director of Mobilisation cautioned against evasion of the National service, noting that Corps members must remain in their places of primary assignment and ensure that they do not miss the biometrics monthly clearance. “The Director General of the NYSC is serious about the issue of evasion of service and would not hesitate to use the NYSC Act on erring Corps members” Ango added
