The Gombe state Governor Alh. Inuwa Yahaya, has said the state will site an industrial park around Dadinkowa Hydroelectric project to benefit from the advantages of the over 40MW power project upon commissioning.
The governor stated this on Saturday when he took a tour round the over thirty years hydroelectric dam project.
He said that the government will establish an industrial park, one tied to agriculture in other to have a cluster of industries that are related and boost food security.
“The project has come to completion 100% and the project manager has put the machines to run for us to see. What is required is for the minister of water resources and minister of power to invite Mr president come and commission the project. we will utilize the benefit from the power project from production, processing and Marketing especially the irrigation process as over 3000 hectares will be irrigated” Yahaya said.
You will recall that since 1984 the federal government has been on the project. Upon commissioning in December the hydroelectric power project is to generate about 40MW to boost the National Power grid.
Governor Yahaya was accompanied to the Dadinkowa power project inspection by speaker of Gombe state Assembly, commissioners, Special Advisers and top government functionaries.
