I TAKE A VOW by Samuel Oludimu
They said, take me home in case if I get shot in this struggle. They said, tell my parents that I fought harder but the bullet caught me unaware and shattered my blood on the gate of LEKKI.
They said, tell my unborn children that all I ever asked the government to do was to give my generation a good governance. They said, even in their dying state they were singing the National Anthem.
When I heard all they said before their death, I WEPT!
I Wept because I am part of the problem. The problem that led to the death of my fellow Nigerian youths, I am part of it.
I asked myself, am I representing my nation well, even in my country of domicile? Am I faithful and loyal to the people I live with?
I wept because I am part of the problem. I am part of the problem because I have allowed the struggle to build in me the image I wasn’t born with.
You are also part of the problem, because anytime you see the truth you refuse to speak about it. Your inability to speak about every form of evil makes you to be part of the problem and put our generation into this mess.
You are part of the problem, because when you see the truth, you rebel against it.
You hate those who speak the truth and embrace those who comfort you with lies and call it *secret society*
You flash your logos and your beret just to oppress your fellow man and brag in your emptiness, and you still dont know you are part of the problem?
You call yourself SeaLord, flying boy,Aiye, black cat, KKK,green rose, red beret etc and brag in your covenant with the society that never add to human existence or discoveries.
You turned yourself to the political thugs, and you allow them use you to kill your fellow man, and you claim never to be part of the problems.
Hey, I know you are a pastor, evangelist, minister prophet and teacher, but you using your office to fight against those who question your inaccuracy and you say you are not part of the problems.
But there is a way out of the problems. You and I must take a vow to be faithful and loyal to humanity.
You and I must take a vow to be loyal to depart from our evil ways. You and I must be sincere enough to stand for the truth and be ready to lift the banner high. You and I must take a vow to represent our nation well. I am going to leave you with your conscience and judge yourself from the tablet of your heart.
For me, I TAKE A VOW.
This is powerful and thoughtful, truly we are all part of the problem.
One of the best article I’ve read in recent times. God bless you, bro.
The thought behind this is deep. Now, I know I am also part of the problem, and this is a call for me and everyone to pause, think and do a 360degree turn that trully befit humanity.
More Grace Psalm.
I wish I can like this post a 100 times, but the best I can do is to reshare it. I take a vow✊
Your husband, the author of ‘who I think I Am’ nailed this masterpiece. His article is relevant at this material time especially now that everyone is running away from the problem. I take a vow, not to close my eyes to injustices, wrongdoing and to stand out.
This is indeed thought provoking, truth and down to earth. The piece is relevant and timely. How else can we make this get to a larger populace? Read and repost.
Samuel, I do not know you but I do know your brother. You are true son of your father. I am proud of you.
