Gombe State Police Commissioner Shehu Maikudi, has promised not to condone bribery amongst rank and file in the state.
Maikudi disclosed this to Journalists on Tuesday at the command’s office in Gombe upon his official resumption to work.
The police boss said the command will build on legacies of his predecessor adding that he will remodify, restrategize the system to be able to checkmate dynamic criminal trends.
Maikudi said, “I know for a fact that the Inspector General of Police most of the times when people are caught on camera and pictures are displayed on social media actions are usually taken. Nobody is condoning that aspect of corruption, if they exist let us know we will fish them out and deal decisively with them because that is not the mandate given to them.”
While promising to work assiduously to reduce the crime rate in the state Maikudi said, “We will improve on the legacies my predecessor left behind. Policing as you know requires new innovations, we might need to do things a little different because crime is not static and since we are in a dynamic society there is a need to remodify, restrategize mechanism to be able to checkmate criminal elements within our midst.”
He added that there will be robust synergy between the police and other security agencies to make the state peaceful.
Recall that Maikudi was transfered to Gombe from Command Headquarters, Abuja where he was Commissioner in charge of Explosive Ordinance Department (EOD).
