Gombe to establish cultural centre -SSG

Gombe state government has expressed readiness to partner the National Commission for Museum and Monuments to establish cultural sustainability centre in the state.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, made the disclosure when he received the curator and officers of the commission on a courtesy call at the Government House, also disclosed that the state has thirty ethnic nationalities with diverse culture orientation would benefit from the partnership as it strive to preserve the state cultural heritage.
Njodi assured the commission of the state government commitment to meeting some of its challenges, especially the establishment of a gallery and recovery of artifacts for the betterment of future generations.
Njodi further advised the commission to articulate it’s demands for government intervention, stressing the need for the commission to explore all the state historic sites, harness the culture and traditions of the people.
The State Curator of the National Commission for Museum and Monuments, Hassan Kasim had earlier presented the challenges of the commission in the state to include lack of facility for its Gallery, inadequate office accommodation and the need for functional official vehicle to enable the commission explore the rich cultural heritage of the state.
