Gombe Deputy Gov expresses delight over successful APC primaries, emergence of party flag bearer
The Gombe State Deputy Governor, Manassah Daniel Jatau, has congratulated the All Progressives Congress ( APC) for a successful Presidential Convention, and the Party Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for emerging as the party’s flag bearer at the primary election.
The Deputy Governor, speaking shortly after the announcement of the winner of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Primary Election at the Eagle Square, Central Area, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, said the successful conduct of the primary election was a clear indication of strength and maturity.
The announcement was made by the Chairman Election Management Committee, and Governor of Kebbi State, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu declaring Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as winner in a keenly contested election where over fourteen aspirants contested apart from nine who withdrew shortly before the commencement of the election.
Jatau said, “now that the primaries are over, and flag bearers are available at all levels, there is a great need for coming together, bringing all contestants together, and all stakeholders of the party because this is just the first step and the party must put the house in order, to work as a group so as to ensure success at the general elections in 2023.”
He added, “there should be a machinery on ground that should make the party sensitive to happenings and diversities of the nation. When this is done the party shall be stronger, and be confident of winning the general elections.”
Dr. Jatau further advised the party leadership to bring all interest groups together devoid of any sentiment so as to be able to convince the voting populace of the capability of the party to be able to deliver, if elected.
He said, leadership and governance is a collective effort, while the leader charts the course and the team players work towards delivering the dividends, and expressed optimism that Bola Ahmed Tinubu can make Nigeria greater by bringing it out of retrogression that seems to engulf the socioeconomic system of the nation.
He stressed that the party has very high chances of winning the general elections with Tinubu as the flag bearer, large supporter population and membership but, not without repositioning itself by wooing the confidence of the people and massively sensitising them to participate during voting exercise.
He noted that the population and the chanting of the party slogan could amount to nothing without participating in the real voting exercise therefore the leadership of the party should take this into cognizance and ensure educating the members for the party to succeed.
He assured of the support of the people of Gombe State under the able leadership of our amiable governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to the APC towards success of the party.
The Election Management Committee of the APC National Convention has announced Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the APC Presidential Primary Election having scored 1,271 votes defeating the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Amaechi Rotimi immediate past Minister of Transport who scored 235 and 316 respectively.
