Gombe NYSC Coordinator urges PCMs on entrepreneurial skills
Considering the increasing rate of unemployment among Nigerian graduates, the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme has been introduced into the Orientation Course content to build the capacity of Corps members to gain the required Entrepreneurship and hands-on skills to cope with the challenges of unemployment and global socio-economic down turn.

That assertion was made by the State Coordinator NYSC Gombe, during the opening ceremony of the 2022 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme at NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp Amada, Gombe State.

Speaking through the Camp Director, Mrs Beulah Stellah Gokum, the NYSC Boss in the State said the objectives of the programme include;
Cultivating the culture of entrepreneurship and income generation practices
Building the capacity of Corps members to see opportunities to create wealth from situations around them
Identifying demand – driven business skills
Gathering information on funding opportunities
Gaining technical assistance in job search
In the course of the hands-on training, Corps members are exposed to the following set skills and sub-set.

- Food processing and processing
- Culture and tourism
- Cosmetology
- Information and Communication Technology
- Film and Photography
- Construction
- Environment
- Beautification
- Education
- Power and energy
- Automobile
Meanwhile, the Assistant Director SAED, NYSC Gombe State, Hajiya Jummai Idris Reme, urged them to pay attention to lectures delivered on Entrepreneurship Development and make up their minds to learn a skill to augment the allowance paid by the Federal Government.
