My mission is to create jobs for Gombe youths – NNPP guber candidate
Hon. Ahmed Khamisu Mailantarki, the governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Gombe State says his mission is to create job opportunities for youths to be economically empowered if elected.
Mailantarki stated this in an interview with the newsmen in Gombe on Sunday.
He stated that empowering youth was one of the strategies to pull citizens of Gombe out of poverty.
According to him, since the youth form the larger part of the population of the state, harnessing their strength and creativity will help improve the economy of Gombe State.
He said that “solving the problems of the youths unemployment is key to having guaranteed security, fast-tracking development and driving a robust economy for the state.”
He stated that his party was more concerned about the people of the state, hence “ our policies will be people-oriented and focus on human-capital development.
“This will be achieved through massive skills acquisition training and education for both women and youth,” he said.
He said it was the responsibility of government to make the society conducive for people to actualise their dreams and visions, “doing that will open other opportunities for women to tap in and eradicate poverty.”
He stated that if elected as the governor of Gombe State, he would use Kano State under the administration of his party’s national leader, Rabiu Kwankwaso as a model to develop Gombe State.
He said that through his philanthropic gesture under the Mailantarki Care Football Academy, a lot of Gombe youth had been taken to European clubs to pursue their careers.
“Also, over 20 players in this month will be taken on an European tour and all of them are Gombe youths.
“This is the kind of platforms we will be creating in other sectors to ensure that youth fulfil their God-given talents and live a meaningful life,” he added.
Mailantarki stated that the current All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state had not delivered to the expectations of the people.
“This is why we need a new Gombe that we the NNPP will bring on board,” he said.
The NNPP candidate urged youths in the state from 18 years and above to get registered and get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to be able to vote in 2023.
“As I have always maintained, violence is never an option in governance or politics; so to all my supporters, I advise you to be peace-loving in all political activities,” Mailantarki said.
