Osun APC matters arising: Solutions to solve the lingering issues bedeviling our party post election {Opinion}
By Comrade Okedara Kolawole
Losing is part of life. You win and lose some. As a progressive and democrat that wishes for a better governance for the people.
We have to look inward and really do a lot of soul searching because what happened in Osun is a pointer to the fact that over-confidence and political arrogance will not get us to the promise land. A whole lot went wrong in Osun’s APC and it shouldn’t happen in Lagos or any apc state in Nigeria, our reward mechanism and inclusiveness should be looked into.
Internal genuine resolution and effective managerial system should be adopted in tackling any lingering internal crises, everyone should bury his or her ego and team up with the party and build a synergy that works. All aspirant that bought forms and spent money for campaign should be called for an emergency meeting as they are stakeholders that will find lasting solutions to lingering party issues, all party leaders at the grassroot should also be addressed.
Our party the APC needs to get its act together, and forge a common front. No man is an Island in politics, days ahead will be tougher, but we must rise above this temporary defeat by correcting our errors, accept blames, unify the party, feel the purse of the ordinary Nigerians which are the masses. We recognise that APC is a pro-masses party which is bound to make mistakes. Let the blame game stop, let those who believe they are superior eat humble pie. I believe it’s not too late, we can do it as a party and people.
The overzealous & sycophants supporters! It is time for solemnity.
I pray this meet you well sir.
Kolawole, writes from Lagos. He is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
