Lauco said, “Government is looking at the situation, they ASUU knows that the problem is not with the state. The agreement signed is not with the state but in solidarity with their colleagues they decided to go on the strike. Let me give you an instant, the issue between ASUU and federal government is about IPPIS. The entire staff of Gombe State University are not on IPPIS.”
He added, “The eight issues that led to the initial strike, resumption we have made it clear to them that out of eight it is only one which is End Academic Allowances (EAA). In this case we have entered agreement with ASUU, since last year and we have been honouring our part of the agreement.
“We met a debt of over 1.3 billion left by the previous government, we discussed with ASUU and we reached agreement as to how we will gradually pay it off. We already honoured that of last year and that of this year before we could honour it the sympathy strike began. It until they finish that we will talk of honouring that one. We don’t problem with ASUU.”
