Investment Summit: Steering Committee okays level of readiness
Barely three weeks to hosting of Gombe Investment Summit, the Chairman steering Committee on staging of successful Investment Summit Manassah Daniel Jatau, has met with members of the Committee to put in place necessary modalities for ensuring successful hosting of the summit which is slated for 11th and 12th October, 2022.

Manassah Daniel Jatau who is the Deputy Governor of Gombe State led members of the committee to visit Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, and International Conference Centre as part of the preparation to make sure the International Conference Centre, venue of the summit is made suitable to host business magnates all over the world, and to also ensure the industrial park gives a good impression of a business worthy environment to woo investors into the state.

Briefing newsmen shortly after the inspection visit to the two places in Dadinkowa, Yamaltu- Deba LGA and Tunfure in Akko LGA, the Deputy Governor expressed delight that the stage is almost set for the hosting of successful summit.
The team were received at the industrial park by the site Engineer, Abubakar Batagarawa of Multi System Consultants who, explained that the activities at the park are at various levels of completion.

The committee explained that they were at the site to ascertain level of development in preparation for the forth coming Gombe investment summit when investors are expected from all over the world and are expected to visit the site.
They stressed the need for the contractor handling the site to do more for the site to have a good impression on the investors by putting in place all the necessary things needed in a modern industrial park.
The Engineer explained that the industrial park is planned in such a way that all the basic infrastructure needed like water, power, roads, hospitals, security points, among other things are provided to attract investors and for successful operations in the industrial park.
He said, “there are provisions of five hectares and above for heavy industries,, Two- point Four to five hectares for medium industries and zero- point- four to two-point- four for low industries.
“There are provisions for low density and high density houses. There are also provisions of two reservoirs for reserving water to the tune of one million five hundred thousand litres. One is completed and the other is ongoing.”
The Engineer noted with happiness that the industrial park will create employment, boost revenue and income generation as well as raise the general level of livelihood of the people in the state.
While at Dadinkowa, the Committee met with one of those interested in the industrial drive of the state, Engr. Mrs. Funmi Akingbagbohun Fose who is of concern with the commitment put in place by the Gombe State Government and commended the leadership of governor Muhummadu Inuwa Yahaya’s led administration for establishing the industrial park.
She said, she was impressed with the level of development, pointing out that, the industrial park will woo investment into the state, and will attract so much development within the vicinity which will increase the revenue of the people and that of the state.
Receiving the Committee at the International Conference Centre, the Facility Manager, Engr. Istakis Emmanuel who the chief officer and maintenance engineer in charge of International Conference Hall along Gombe-Bauchi road took them round the facility.
He informed them that, everything is in order except for services that needed to be done on some of the facilities.
It could be recalled that the state government has Inaugurated a Steering Committee to facilitate the staging of Gombe State’s investment summit tagged Go-Invest 2022, which is coming up in October,11th and 12th.
Members of the steering committee include the state deputy governor, Manassah Daniel Jatau,Dr.Umaru Kwairanga, Chairman, Gombe State Investment and Property Development Company Ltd.,Haruna Jalo Waziri, Managing Director/CEO, Central Securities Clearing Systems Plc., Muhammad Kabir Ahmed, Muhammed Gambo Magaji, Commissioner of finance and Economic Development and Dr.Ishiyaku Mohammed, Special Adviser on Budget Planning and Development Partners Coordination who as secretary.
It is worthy of note that the summit is being facilitated by the Gombe State Government and other partners under the patronage of Mr.Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo,and the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission in Gombe State.
