2023: NNPP Gombe Guber Candidate Mailantarki, sues for peaceful process
Gubernatorial candidate of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), in Gombe State Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki, has sued for peaceful electioneering process.
Mailantarki, in an interview with Correspondents’ Chapel in Gombe urged youths to desist from allowing themselves to be used especially as tools in the hands of politicians.
According to him, peaceful co-existence would ensure development, stressing that his administration would ensure the promotion of the much needed economic empowerment of the youth.
Mailantarki said, “I believe in peace because it remains the bedrock of development and growth, especially in a democracy.
“It is in this regard that I again call on youths in Gombe State to realise that there is life after election. We must practice politics without hatred, bitterness or violence.”
Speaking further Mailantarki, noted that all the youth required is increased support, deliberate investment, adding that as a private citizen he has used sports, agriculture to empower many youths.
“All the youth need is a little support and no one is giving them that support. I was able to create Mailantarki care foundation under Mailantarki sports academy. This is meant to make the youth shy away from thuggery, shy away from Kalare to get engaged in sports because it better than thuggery, Kalare (militia group). In Gombe we have Balanga dam, Dadinkowa dam but no one is harnessing its potential,” he added.
While commending the resolve of electorates to adopt NNPP as the vehicle of progress in the state, Mailantarki alleged that PDP, APC although tested are not capable of transforming the fortunes of Gombe State.
“They (people) are now understanding the message, we are trying to bring up Gombe used to be two party state and we feel something is wrong because we feel no option for other people have to restrict themselves within the two parties. PDP has ruled for a long time, and now APC but with what is happening it a clear indication that there is no difference, there is nothing to show the people of Gombe State.
“If you look at so many fields you will realise the people of Gombe are crying. For the first time in the history of Gombe we acquired alot of land from different financial institution that is the ruling party and for the first time the common man,was asked to pay alot of money as revenue and if you put everything together we are still not getting it right. In PDP people thought will be a better candidate but they brought a candidate against the majority of the members of the party which for us is a good thing because we are trying to send a message that we don’t have to put party first but the state. That is why people are trooping into NNPP because they believe we can do the right thing. They know we can form a government that can solve issues from Education and so on. We are going to win the election because PDP has failed when it had the opportunity, APC too has failed as it has the opportunity,” Mailantarki added.
Commenting on the recently held Gombe Investment Summit, Mailantarki urged the State Government to implement the resolution of the summit in order to reap its fruit.
“Well sometimes from the headlines it will be very attractive as if it is something good but from the practice you realise it all lies, fake they don’t mean the content. If they implement it the way it is will be good but most of these programmes have failed,” he said.
