Desist from using social media negatively- Gombe NYSC Coordinator advises Batch C stream I PCMs
The 2022 Batch C Stream I Prospective Corps members deployed to Gombe State have been advised to desist from using the social media platform negatively.
Mrs Ada Imoni, the Gombe State Coordinator made that known while briefing camp participants at NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp Amada, Gombe State.

She said, “NYSC Management frowns at abuse of the social media platforms by Corps members. Posting of Camp activities should be handled by the Publicity and Protocol team of the NYSC.
“It is therefore an offence for Corps members to post videos and or pictures online. Anyone caught will be sanctioned in accordance to the provisions of the NYSC Act and Bye-laws.”
Imoni, explicitly spoke on the four cardinal programmes of the NYSC, the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme, social vices, Security, allowances , discipline, respect for constituted authority, granting press interviews without permission and the National Health Insurance Agency among other things.
Speaking on the 2023 General elections, Mrs Imoni, called on them to be non partisan, adding that, “The nation is depending on Corps members to give free, fair and credible election come 2023. To achieve that, you must be non partisan. We expect you to say no to social vices and remember you are ambassadors of the NYSC and your family.”

The State Coordinator, also encouraged them to mingle with their counterpart in order to promote national unity and integration and strive to.confirm at first hand the many similarities we have as members of the same nation.

Imoni added, “I encourage you to say no to hate speech in whatever form and see yourself as your brother’s and sister’s keeper. As Corps members, it behoves you to prepare yourself for the great task of nation building.”
