Ex-Gombe PDP chieftain joins NNPP, declares support for Mailantarki
The North-East Ex-officio of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mole Istifanus-Bennet, has joined the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) after meeting with the party’s governorship candidate in Gombe State, Hon Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki.

This is contained in a statement made available to PERISCOPE NIGERIA, in Gombe by Mr Adamu Usman Ahmed, the media aide to Hon Mailantarki.
It was reported that the North-East Ex-officio of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mole Istifanus-Bennet, On Thursday resigned from the Party in Gombe state.
Istifanus-Bennet, who was the immediate past State’s women leader in the state, did not however table any reason for her decisiin to resign her membership of the PDP.
Ahmed stated that the ex-PDP woman chieftain decamped with Muhammed Maiyadi Kaltungo and thousands of their loyalists into the NNPP.

The statement partly read, “the aftermath of Mailantarki’s consultative visit to Gombe South, Mailantarki’s Movement For New and Better Gombe State Received a Major boast as Ex Gombe State PDP Women Leader Mrs Moles Istifanus Joins Train.
“It was a remarkable moment for the New Nigeria peoples Party NNPP in Gombe State as the rescue mission team on Thursdays received the former PDP Gombe State Women Leader Mrs. Moles Istifanus at the Hon Mailantarki’s residence in Gombe.
“Moles hold the position of Ex-officio in the PDP’s North East executive before deciding to team up with the camp of the NNPP’s Guber Candidate Hon Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki for the success of the party in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
“The development came a few days after Mailantarki, his running mate Mr. Hamma Tanimu among other supporters concluded the consultation tour in Gombe South senatorial zone which include Mrs. Moles’ Kaltungo LGA.
“Already the NNPP in the state has begun to gather more momentum due to the personalities of their respective candidates vying for seats at levels.”
Other chieftains who defected alongside the former PDP North-East Ex-Officio are; Hon. Samaila Baba, Assistant State Auditor of the PDP, Alhaji Gambo Maiyadi, former Special Assistant to Governor Dankwambo, Hon. J. U Labebe, former councillor, Wange ward, and Haruna Bala Kamo, former Councillor and Special Assistant.
Others were Ruth Ngale, Lydia Felix, and Hon. Nathan Y. Kalpaddo.
