Kaltungo/Shongom Reps member unveils PDP’s promise of progress, generosity

House of Representatives member representing Kaltungo/Shongom Local Government Area of Gombe State, Honourable Obed Paul Shehu, has reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people and delivering on the mandate entrusted to him.
Shehu restated this commitment during a heartwarming thanksgiving ceremony, where he emphasised the Peoples Democratic Party’s dedication to bringing more dividends of democracy to the constituents of Kaltungo/Shongom.
“The Peoples Democratic Party, is a Party with the people at heart, we have started this is of course not the beginning, but a harbingerof the things to come. We are calling on our constituents to be patient and keep us in their prayers, God’s willing we will do more,” Shehu said.
In a remarkable display of generosity, Shehu presented cash donations to several deserving individuals and groups within the constituency. Notably, Abdulnasir James, a lecturer at Gombe State University, received significant support for a scholarship to study at the esteemed University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, in the United States, backed by 1.5 million naira.
Further enriching the lives of the community, ‘Last Team Standing,’ a football scouting group focused on talent hunting in Gombe South, was bestowed with 250,000 naira. The Kilang Cycling Crew, aiming to promote cycling athletes in the region, received 100,000 naira, while Mr. Habibu Wasa, was granted 150,000 naira, alongside other beneficiaries.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the recipients, James hailed Shehu’s gesture as a sign of positive things to come.
“I want to thank Hon. Obed for the strategic nature of the educational empowerment initiative, and recognizing its potential to unleash the boundless energies of the people in Kaltungo/Shongom constituency,” James added.
On his part, Senator representing Gombe South, Anthony Siyako Yaro, commended Hon. Shehu’s remarkable intervention, emphasising the unprecedented scale of support provided in less than a month since assuming office.
Lauding the young representative as a trailblazer in delivering dividends of democracy, he assured the constituents of more to come.
Recall in another recent act of benevolence, Senator Yaro had previously granted scholarships to over 500 tertiary school students from Tangale Waja across the country, further reflecting the party’s commitment to fostering educational growth.
The event was graced by other esteemed dignitaries, including Hon. Ali Isa J.C, Minority Whip and Member Representing Billiri/Balanga Federal Constituency, Hon. Gabriel Galadima, Member Kaltungo West, and the Caretaker Chairman of Kaltungo LGA, Hon. Faruk Kabo, among other prominent personalities.
