Ibadan Book Club launches project to nurture literary talent
Following the resounding success of the Read Nigeria Project and the Ibadan Reads Project, the Ibadan Book Club, in collaboration with the Nigerian Writers Academy, proudly announces the launch of their latest initiative, the “Write and Publish Project.” This groundbreaking project is set to revolutionise the literary landscape by empowering aspiring writers and nurturing their creative talents.
The Write and Publish Project will unfold over the course of four months, encompassing a series of impactful events. The project kicked off with the Ibadan Creative Writing Seminar in September, held at the esteemed Oyo State Library Board. Designed to inspire and refine the writing skills of budding authors, the seminar served as a cornerstone for the upcoming phases.
In October, the project will delve into the Ibadan Indigenous Writing Workshop, a platform dedicated to preserving and promoting indigenous languages and cultures. Following this, the Ibadan Poetry Workshop in November will celebrate the art of poetry, fostering a community of poets and enthusiasts alike. The project will culminate in December with the Ibadan Publishing Seminar, where participants will gain insights into the intricacies of the publishing industry, both digital and traditional.
Through these meticulously planned phases, the Write and Publish Project aims to equip writers with the tools and knowledge necessary to transform their creative visions into published works. Participants will have the opportunity to explore electronic platforms and various other means to showcase their literary creations to a wider audience.
