The Federal Fire Service Gombe State Command has rescued three out of five compartments of 33,000 litre tanker laden with Premium Motor Spirit.
According to a press statement made available to our correspondent on Saturday, by the Commanding Officer, Federal Fire Service Gombe State Command, Deputy Controller Ayuba Jonah-Sule.

Jonah-Sule disclosed that there was no casualty following the swift response the incident received from his officer.
He said, “Two compartments exploded, three rescued from the 33,000 litre tanker filled with Premium Motor Spirit (Fuel).
“We stopped for the address located around Liji along Dadinkowa Road on Friday. It was an incidence involving a tanker with plate number FKY 667-ZA, which is used for conveying premium motor spirit (p.m.s) Which covers an area of about 200 by 200 meters.”
Disclosing the method employed in putting out the inferno, and the support received Jonah-Sule added “The fire extinguished by the use of two medium jet of water working from ffs 193. In attendance were Gombe State Fire Service, Nigeria Police Force, and Department Security Services.”
Jonah added that investigation was ongoing into the cause of the fire, while urging motorists especially tanker drivers to apply caution in their line of duty.
