The logical metamorphosis of Edo South in Edo State politics is complete: from grace to grass.
APC released their campaign committee. Not one Edo South leader on that list.
This is not accident. This is exclusion in industrial scale. But this is anathema in all facets of political algorithm as a majority.
Once upon a time, Edo South was the engine room. Benin votes decided governors. Benin money funded parties. Benin sons and daughters sat at the head of every serious table. We were grace. We were leverage. We were courted.
Today we are grass. We are trampled on. We are remembered only during election season, then forgotten when the sharing starts.
How did we fall? Our leaders sold the house for rent money. They chased personal appointments and abandoned structure. They fought each other for crumbs while others built blocks. They imported outsiders to speak for us and exported our own sons to the political wilderness.
Now the bill has come. When you have no structure, you have no voice. When you have no voice, they will make decisions about you without you.
Politics rewards organization, not noise. It rewards negotiation, not begging.
To Edo South leaders: go back to the drawing board. Build. Unite. Negotiate. Or keep watching from the gallery.
To Edo South people: stop celebrating photo ops and start demanding positions.
If your name is not on the list, you are not in the plan. And if you are not in the plan, you will be in the pain.
