Gombe State Commissioner of Police CP. Ahmed Maikudi Shehu,on Monday, commended youths of Gombe State for displaying high level of responsibility, calmness, perseverance and restraint following the just concluded mass protests across the Nation.
According to a press statement, which was signed by Sp Mary Malum, the command’s public relations officer, Cp Maikudi expressed appreciation to youths for conducting themselves peacefully.
While lauding the effort of the Inuwa Yahaya led government for it support to the police and other security agencies, he called on parents to continue to prevail on their wards to shun acts of violence.
The statement partly stated, “in the face of threats and calls from other quarters with deliberate falsehood and misinformation through the social media in the face of unwarranted provocation from other divisive elements hiding under the umbrella of ENDSARS protests currently going on in the Country.
“However, it is very unfortunate that other interests has hijacked these protests and are compounding our collective security in States.
“all relevant critical stakeholders, parents and youths at various levels are advised to continue to prevail on their wards and subjects to remain peaceful in this trying times and shun any act that will likely cause breach of the peace in the State.”
Maikudi further enjoined residents to continue to support the Police with useful information that will promote harmony and general security in the State.
