Two feared dead, one hospitalised in Gombe auto crash

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has confirmed the death of two persons around meluku area, along Yola/ Gombe expressway.
Speaking in an interview with our correspondent on Thursday, Public Relations Officer of the sector, Janet Kassa said the incident occured following a loss of break, and over speeding.

Kassa revealed that the incident had one survivor, who is recuperating from the tragic occurrence at the State Specialist Hospital.
According to the Public Relations Officer, the accident involved two articulated vehicles claiming two lives on the spot.
She said, “The accident happened along Yola road by new mile involving three passengers, where two persons died on the spot and one is currently receiving treatment at State Specialist Hospital.
“Speed and loss of control are likely to be the reasons for the accident.”
While urging motorists to obey road regulations, Kassa said the command would soon embark on Ember month safety campaign.
“We will soon start our Ember month campaign, to enlighten road users on the need to be careful,” she added.
Also speaking, Usman Abubakar, An eye witness hinted how the articulated vehicle collided with a petroleum tanker.
“This thursday morning, A mini Diana truck coming from Yola axis crashed by the roundabout. Three persons were involved but two persons died immediately and the other person has been deposited to the hospital.
“Immediately, it occured we tried to rescue them but there was little that could have been done,” Abubakar said.
