Maulud: Gombe Gov, wife enjoin muslims to draw lessons, of inspiration from virtues of Prophet Muhammad
As Muslims in Gombe state join other faithful all over the world to celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Maulud on Tuesday, 19th October, 2021, Governor Muhammadu Yahaya has sent his felicitations to the ummah, urging them to use the occasion to draw lessons and inspiration from the virtues of service, peaceful co-existence and exemplary leadership of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
In a statement marking the birth of the Holy Prophet, which was made available by Director General Government House Ismaila Misilli, Governor Yahaya admonished the Muslim Ummah
to imbibe the spirit of tolerance, humility, modesty and generosity as exemplified by the life and times Prophet Muhammad.
Yahaya said, “As we commemorate this great and epochal day, I enjoin us to continue to demonstrate in our lives, what the noble messenger of Allah bequeathed to humanity in ethos, manners and relationships for the good of the society.”
The Governor also sued for continued prayers for the peace, well being and prosperity of the state and the nation at large.
“The celebration of Maulud should also renew our faiths and increase our tempo in coming together as a people of common destiny to pray for unity, peace, progress and stability of our dear state and the nation for us to attain our aspirational growth and development,” Yahaya added.
Meanwhile, Wife of the Governor, Hajiya Asma’au Yahaya in a statement made available by her Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Bintu Sunmonu, uged faithfuls to eschew bitterness.
“On this occasion of eid maulud celebrations, i call on muslim faithfuls to shun bitterness and foul play, and embrace patience, tolerance and forgiveness which are the good virtues of prophet Muhammad (SAW),that will continue to strengthen the bond between not only the Muslims, but non Muslims alike,” she said.
