Unknown gunmen kills Gombe hunter’s commander, Gov Yahaya mourns
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya has commiserated with the Katah-Kamo village of Kamo Ward in Kaltungo Local Government, over the demise of the commander of a local hunter group in the area, Bello Maiduna who was killed by unknown gunmen.
Leading the Governor’s delegation on Saturday, which included Commissioner for Information and Culture, Julius Ishaya; Special Advisers on Health and Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Commissioner for Internal Security and Ethical Orientation Adamu Dishi-Kupto said the governor was saddened by the occurence.
The delegation on arrival was received by the District Head of Kamo, Nuhu Adamu who lauded the Governor and the State Government for identifying with them at this difficult time.
The Commissioner expressed government’s grief over the death of Bello Maiduna, describing him as a patriotic Nigerian who paid the supreme price fighting against banditry and other forms of criminality in the state.
He said government would continue to support the family in appreciation of his contribution to peace in the state and beyond.
The governor said, “His death is a huge loss not only to the family but to the entire state and the Country at large.
“We pray Allah to grant him Aljannatu firdausi and the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
Responding on behalf of the deceased family, Bala Sani expressed gratitude over the visit and prayed God to reward the Governor and the delegation for their show of love.
He added that the deceased believed in peaceful co- existence, hence, his commitment to fighting criminality in the society .
