Gombe SSG lauds Boys Brigade for moral values, support to authorities
The Secretary to the Gombe State Government (SSG), Prof. Ibrahim Njodi has lauded the contributions of the Boys Brigade of Nigeria in inculcating good moral values in the youth, towards a better and peaceful society.
Njodi gave the commendation as a special guest of honour during the Gombe West Battalion Council Maiden Music Cantata held on Saturday at the Ecwa Church Orji Housing Estate, Gombe.
Represented by the Commissioner of Education Dauda Batari, the SSG hailed the leadership of Gombe west Battalion council (GWBC) for the opportunity to serve as the special guest of honour and the review officer of the maiden music cantata.
He said, “The Boys Brigade has contributed immensely in training the younger ones to be disciplined, peace builders and most importantly their role in complementing the law enforcement agencies.”
He assured them of his personal support and that of Governor Muhammadu Yahaya led administration.
Njodi charged members of the Boys Brigade to allow their action to be hinged on in the spirit of patriotism to the state and the nation, stressing the need for youths to engage themselves in skills acquisition programs so as to be self-reliant.
In his address, the Chairman of the Battalion Band Council, Emmanuel Esthon appreciated the SSG for his support and for honouring their invitation.
He said, “The Boys brigade is into training of the young ones to grow in the way of our lord Jesus Christ as well as supporting constituted authorities.”
He noted that the essence of the Music Cantata is to display talents through Musicals by various groups in the form of band competitions.
Highlights of the event is the review of parade by the representative of the SSG and Band display from various Churches within the Command.
