Residents of Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area decries absence of basic amenities
The residents of Garin Dan Alti in Lano District, Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State, have decried the lack of basic amenities in their area which in turn affects the socio economic activities and human capital development in their town
The residents made this known to our correspondent, when he visited the town to ascertain the level of hardship which the community is subjected to due to the absent of basic amenities in the area.
Speaking to the Village Head, Jauro Saleh, Garin Dan Alti expressed with regret the lack of access road to their town which is the major challenge that is affecting them, especially during raining season which causes flooding there by obstructing vehicular movement into and outside the town.
The Village Head also said that Garin Dan Alti does not have a single project in the name of democratic gains, adding that apart from the lack of access road to the town, there is no portable drinking water, school and hospital in the entire town.
He called on the Gombe State Government, under the able leadership of Governor Muhammadu Yahaya and the Senator representing Gombe central in the red chamber, Alhaji Muhammadu Danjuma Goje, to provide them with the necessary basic amenities to cushion their hardship.
Also Speaking on the challenges facing the town, an elder stateman in the area, Alhaji Ibrahim Lami Garin Dan Alti, said due to lack of access to good road network, they find it very difficult to transport patients to health care facilities.
Alhaji Ibrahim said they have spent a lot of resources trying to repair the dilapidated roads in the town but there were still no good results despite consultations with those in power at various levels of government.
Alh Ibrahim added that apart from the lack of access to Garin Dan Alti which has at least 1,000 houses and about 5,000 people, the town is facing enormous challenges such as Erosion, lack of pipe borne water, schools and basic healthcare facilities.
Alhaji Ibrahim, therefore called on the Gombe State Government and other members of the State and Federal Legislature to come to their aid, by providing them with access road network to the town, which is not more than 2.5 kilometers from the main road.
All efforts to contact the Executive Chairman,Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area, Shaibu Galadima proved abortive as at the time of filing this report.
