Gombe NYSC expects 1,800 for batch C stream II
No fewer than 1,800 Prospective Corps Members (PCMs), batch C stream II are expected for the compulsory three-week orientation course in Gombe State.
According to a press statement made available on Monday, by Margaret Dakama, Head of Press on behalf of the State Coordinator Ada Imoni, the course would commence from Wednesday 24th November to Tuesday 14th December, 2021 at the temporary orientation camp ground in Amada Akko Local Government Area.
She warned the PCMs to avoid night journeys and to use designated motor parks to board vehicles at all times, adding that they should break their journey once it is 6pm to proceed the next day.
NYSC also advised the PCMs about the need to get inoculated with Covid-19 jab, saying that it is safe.
The statement partly read, “About one thousand eight hundred (1800) Prospective Corps members are expected to report for the exercise at NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp Amada, Akko Local Government Area.
“The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps , Brigadier-General Shuaibu Ibrahim has approved the conduct of the 2021 Batch C Stream II
“In line with NYSC extant guidelines on COVID-19 safety protoocols, all Prospective Corps Members and camp officials must undergo COVID-19 test before being admitted into the camp; and in doing this, the Scheme works in collaboration with State Health officials and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, ( NCDC ).
“Camp participants are reminded to adhere strictly to the Covid 19 safety measures of regular use of the Facemask, washing of hands under running water, use of alcohol based sanitizer and observance of social distancing among other things .Camp participants are also advised to take the Covid 19 vaccination as it is safe and would help mitigate the spread of the virus.”
