2023: Group seeks support for Saraki in Gombe
A group under the aegis of Bukola Saraki for President Advocacy Council, has urged Gombe stakeholders in Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to support the ambition of the former senate president.
Speaking shortly after a consultative meeting held at the PDP state secretariat on Tuesday, The Chairman, Prof. Iyorwuese Hagher, said the former Kwara State Governor is the the answer to myriads of challenges bedeviling the country.
According to him, the country has been drifting since the emergence of the All Progressives Congress, stressing that Nigeria is in a critical stage of its history.
Hagher said, “We have come to Gombe to sensitise, dialogue and have a feeling of the pulse of the Nation. We have toured different states of the country, and we intend to tour all states of the country before Bukola Saraki, comes up to make his declaration about his vision and mission.
“Very clearly Nigeria needs Bukola Saraki, now we are in a critical situation in our country APC political party as come to be a party that can be likened to one chance taxi, with false promises of where they are going to take you to, once it takes off it breaks down. The APC is a dangerous vehicle, it has failed in all it promises.”
He noted that Saraki has shown leadership, as former chairman of governors’ forum, noting that he has the strength to unify the country and ensure lasting prosperity.
“The PDP must get prepared to rebuild this country, we want a president who can be available for us, we need a young, strong and robust president. We want a president who will not be elected on the basis of tribe, we don’t want a northern, or southern president, we want a Nigerian president.
“Only one man of out of those that are contesting qualifies to be Nigerian president, who is young, strong, empathy, experienced to make Nigeria great and that man is Bukola Abubakar Saraki,”Hagher added.
Responding to a question on the aspiration of Saraki to be president, if it won’t be against that of his associate former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Hagher said they were happy about Atiku’s ambition, revealing that either of them would yield the country success.
He said, “Atiku Abubakar is a great man, one of the great pillars in the PDP, we look forward to his declaration, it doesn’t makes where the tide swings they are still within the scope and we are happy he (Atiku) will be declaring.”
