NPC commences trial census in Gombe
The National Population Commission (NPC), has commenced trial census in Gombe State ahead of the actual exercise slated for 2023.
Abubakar Danburam, the State’s Commissioner made this disclosure on Monday during a media briefing at the Federal Secretariat, Gombe.
The Commissioner revealed that this would enable the commission ascertain the method to be deployed, adding that it would ensure the smooth conduct.
He said, “This will test the methodology, personnel and human resources we are going to use next year to rest our facilities to know if they can handle the processes, the equipment, gadgets.”
He stressed that the trial census would be held across eight Local Government Areas, excluding three others making up the state.
According to him, the trial census would be conducted in nine supervisory areas to be handled by a supervisor with five enumeration areas.
“We are going to embark on a trial census for the population and housing census next year (2023) in April. As you are aware we have done pre-test one and two and we are also going to hold the third one.
