Yahaya sacks Difa, water board boss over scarcity in Gombe
Following the current water challenges faced by residents of Gombe State, the
Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya has ordered the suspension of the General Manager of Gombe State Water Board GSWB), Engr. Magaji Difa.
According to the Secretary of Gombe State Government (SSG), Prof. Ibrahim Njodi, the governor’s directive is with immediate effect.
Njodi stated that Difa has been directed to handover to the most senior COREN registered Engineer in the board to oversee its affairs until further notice.
Explaining the governor’s order, Njodi said, “the decision was informed by the General Manager’s negligence of duty which led to rampant pipe water leakages as witnessed by the governor during his inspection visits to some projects sites in the state capital.”
