Consultant Urologist Dr. Khalifa Abdulsalam Ibrahim, eight others emerge NMA Executive members in Gombe
No fewer than nine officials have been elected as Executive members of Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Gombe State chapter.
The officials term would run from 2022 to 2024, as they are expected to provide qualitative representation for members of the Association, especially in the areas of welfare, working environment and due protection.
Ibrahim, a consultant Urologist at the Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe, in an earlier chat with Periscope Nigeria, assured of improved working environment for members.
He noted that his cabinet in collaboration with hospital management would factor in female counterparts, towards achieving a friendly common room space and other dividends of his administration.

Responding to a question on how he intended to make the common room habitable, Ibrahim said, “We have more males than female doctors in our environment, the females for cultural reasons don’t feel very comfortable relaxing in the general common rooms. I want to work with the hospital authorities to help provide a conducive atmosphere for our female colleagues.”
“Working with the various hospital managements to provide private common rooms for female colleagues where possible,” Ibrahim added.
