Easter: Gombe Deputy Gov sues for love, others
The Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Manassah Jatau, has joined the Christians all over the world to celebrate the 2023 Good Friday and Easter Period, appreciating the Almighty God for his sustainability, guidance and protection of lives to be part of the celebration.
Jatau, in a message made available by Jack Tasha, Senior Special Assistant Media and Publicity in his office, urged the Christians to demonstrate the sacrificial attitude of Jesus Christ who gave up his life for the redemption of mankind, by caring and showing love to all humanity without any form of discrimination.
He admonished them to live their lives in accordance with Biblical tenets so as to pass the lesson of Easter to those who are not Christians to be able to appreciate the full meaning of love in the society.
Jatau partly said, “This generation needs to know the Lord Jesus Christ and learn from his life of humility, selflessness, and sacrifice. The challenges facing humanity is a clear manifestation of godlessness, which may be done away with, when people return to God. But unfortunately, too most of the vices are being committed by those who profess religion. This must stop.
“I appreciate God for preserving us to witness this year’s Easter period as well as for sustaining our Peaceful Coexistence between the diverse tribes, religions and other interests in the state and Nigeria.
“It is my prayer that, in the spirit of the season (Easter), which connotes the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, everything that is dead in the economy, politics and our entire coexistence be resurrected for the overall good interest of all the residents of Gombe State, Nigeria and entire humanity.”
While seizing the opportunity to call for prayers for a successful transition, abundant rainfall and bumper harvest, called for God’s blessings in all legitimate and economically viable ventures.
“May God accept all our sacrifices, devotions and prayers offered during the period, bless all our legitimate endeavours and take us to the next level of development in all ramifications,” the statement added.
