The Secretary to Government of Gombe State Professor, Abubakar Ibrahim-Njodi, has re-emphasised the commitment of the present administration to upholding the fundamental principles peace for progressive growth and development.

Njodi stated this when he paid a working visit to Gombe Local Government Secretariat on Tuesday.

The SGS’ visit coincided with the Local Government monthly meeting with traditional rulers and other stakeholders to discuss modalities of maintaining peace and development of the Council.

Njodi remarked that since assuming office in 2019 there were 28 active gullies in Gombe metropolis alone but that through the commitment of the present administration in the state, a lot has been achieved in that sector.

He told stakeholders in Gombe the Local Government that the state government is deeply concerned on any issue that negatively affects the state and its citizens hence, its consistent intervention in various sectors of human development.
He explained that only recently the state governor inaugurated a negotiation team to deal with sundry issues raised by the staff unions of the Gombe State University explaining that sooner than later the issues will be resolved to pave way for academic activities resume.
On the chairman’s efforts at remodelling the local government secretariat and other developmental projects, the SGS commended Barrister Sani for his transformational drive.
He encouraged the council chairman to continue in the same spirit, noting that his perspective on development is akin to that of Governor Yahaya.
Earlier, the chairman Gombe local government Barrister Sani Ahmadu-Haruna, appreciated Njodi for the visit, saying it will encourage them to do more.
He appreciated Njodi for his humility, candour and his wise counsel on peace and development of the state.
The chairman recalled pleasant experiences he had with the chief scribe of the state government, describing him as a mentor and stabiliser which has since manifested on his Excellent performance in the running of the affairs of governance.
Sani who is also the ALGON chairman Gombe State told the SGS that since becoming chairman of the local government the routine meetings with stakeholders has been on to ensure peace and security of the council while fine tune ways for sustainable development, bring stakeholders up to speed on some government programmes especially on areas of health and hygiene.
In a remark, the acting Senior District Head of Gombe who is also the District Head of Nassarawo, Alhaji Usman Shettima, appreciated the policy of inclusivity of the chairman of Gombe Local government saying they find his style of leadership very accommodating.
He lauded the developmental projects of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa-Yahaya within the last five years assuring of their unwavering support to the administration.
The SGS was accompanied on the visit by the Perm Sec/ Director General Bureau of Public Service Reforms Abubakar Hassan, the Perm Sec SS&Pol Salihu Adamu Sambo and the Director General Duties Balarabe Musa.
