A sudden loss of power supply from the national grid has left Jos Electricity Distribution Company’s franchise states of Gombe, Benue, Bauchi and Plateau without power.
According to a statement from the Head of Corporate Communications, Dr Friday Elijah, the national grid collapsed at approximately 1:33pm on Wednesday, resulting in a loss of power supply on their feeders.
Our correspondent reports that the power outage affected several areas, leaving residents and businesses without electricity.
Recall that grid collapses were recurring tales between October and November.
The statement partly read, “We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused our esteemed customers.
“We are working tirelessly to restore power supply as soon as the grid supply returns to normal.”
Elijah assured customers that the company is doing everything possible to resolve the issue quickly, saying “We appreciate our customers’ patience and understanding as we strive to serve them better.”
