Every generation produces its own “new kid in the block.” Loud. Unfiltered. Convinced they alone can save Nigeria.
Today, that fight is playing out between Omoyele Sowore and VeryDarkMan, VDM.

Sowore: activist turned politician. Years on the street, prison cells, and protest grounds. His brand is revolution.
VDM: social media critic turned activist. Phone camera, hot takes, and millions of followers. His brand is exposure.
The clash was inevitable. Two men who thrive on calling out power, now calling each other out.
But here is the problem. Nigerians don’t need another ego battle. We need results.
When activists fight activists, the ruling class claps. When “new kids” spend energy dragging each other, nothing changes for the nurse earning ₦60,000 or the student who can’t afford fees.
Disagreement is healthy. Accountability inside the opposition is healthy. But if it becomes clout chasing, insults, and “who is more radical,” then we have just replaced old politicians with new influencers.
Nigeria’s pain is bigger than personalities.
Sowore and VDM both have followership and fire. The question is, will they use it to fight the system, or to fight each other for control of the block?
Because if it’s the latter, then the block remains broken.
