Fiery Christian clergies, from the Northern region of Nigeria, Prophet Isa El-Buba and Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, have been given meritorious awards in United States of America’s capital, Washington DC, for their relentless advocacy against religious persecution in the West African country, particularly its northern region.

Titled “US-Nigeria Faith Heroes Award Gala”, and sub-titled “Thank You, America, Please Do More”, the dual-event was organized by the Save Nigeria Group – USA (SNGUSA), a US registered charity, with Mr. Stephen Osemwegie as President/Founder, while Messrs. Victor Ben Onyeka and David as executive members.
The twin-event that earlier featured a “Save Nigeria Rally” on separate days, alongside the award ceremony, was crowded by activists, policy makers, clergies and other bi-partisan groups and bodies from the US, Nigeria and around the world.
It was collaborated by over 35 groups, including the Save Nigeria People’s Initiative (SANPI), a Nigeria home-based coalition that supports the SNGUSA’s diaspora activities, as convened by Comrade Tony Erha.
While Prophet El-Buba, General Overseer of the Evangelical Outreach Ministry International, Jos Plateau, Nigeria, received “The Patriarch of Faith Honor; Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, pastor and human rights advocate, who also resides in Jos, got “2026 Pillar of Faith and Courage”
Miss Leah Sharibu, who gained global prominence in 2019 for her resilience advocacy against religious persecution and for religious freedom in the same northern region, was bestowed with “Global Icon of Christian Courage Award”.
Whilst receiving the awards in America, El-Buba and Dachomo, who are globally known for their relentless advocacy against the persecution of Nigerian Christians, particularly in the country’s North about which they often clash with the Nigerian authority, again called on President Trump to double up his efforts to stop the killings and insecurity in the country.
The ceremony was the second segment of a twin-event that featured “Save Nigeria Rally”, in which the US President, Mr. Donald Trump, Pastor Enoch A. Adeboye, General Overseer of the RCCG Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, General Overseer of the Living Faith Church, Nigerian television presenter, Laolu Akande, US Secretary of State Mr. Marco Rubio, US Congressman Railey Moore, and ‘Nigerian Soldiers’ were recipients.
