Buhari remains the Preferable option by Azubuike Chima Nathaniel
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing- Edumund Burke(1729-97). It is undoubted that president buhari is a good man and has chosen to do something about our Country Nigeria. Out of the five finger that points at the president, 3 highlights his integrity, that he has an impeccable integrity, 0ne points at his appointments not juxtaposing  federalism as they are mainly people from his part of town. The last but the fifth finger points to his Unpretentious tendencies, unbulging resolve to issues especially one he is convinced about.

Nigeria since Independence, has been blessed with leaders with her passion as most of them had pointed out from civilian to military governments. Coupists or government toplers have never lacked the right words to use as reason for their action passion to salvage has always being the underlining factor. What is yet to be observed is how beneficial their venture have faired in our polity. Analysts have heaped the military venture in Nigeria politics  as the bane for our current underdevelopment because our democracy hasn’t enough time to grow. They went on to argue that those errors which spurred the military into politics aside greed can be categorized as the toothing period, the ache which accompanies growing teeth….as the dentition would have become stronger and more coordinated but for the intervention.

The coming of former President Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999 gave many unexplainable hope of a new beginning but how far he pulled through is contestable as there are arguments in his favour as some tilts towards his achievements namely settlement of Nigeria debt, positive image laundering across the globe, the domestication of GSM and several others but these was not without his Anti Democratic displays such as impeachment of democratically elected officials on opposing camps. This was an introduction to showmanship and god fatherism thereby bastardizing the growing Democratic milk teeth of Nigeria. Instead of building institutions the Obasanjo government promoted Strong men. This gave rise to the Uba dynasty in Anambra Sen.Ngige felt the heat, whereas Peter Obi,won’t forget in a hurry. The Gbegiri and Ewedu politics of Adedibu in Oyo state as Sen. Ladoja will tell you better about the rascality. The Pauline Tallen equation of plateau state as Sen.Dariye Joshua felt how well. The reign of Umaru musa Yar’adua  was short but eventful as it on record that he declared his asset without some much persuasion, The Niger delta Amnesty program but death took away from Nigerians. This introduced Doctrine of Necessity which ushered in Goodluck Jonathan who continued some of the policies of Yar’adua, Reno Omokri, is always quick to mention the 12 refurbished universities, UWin program, employment, introduction of BVN and so on.

President Muhammadu Buhari, may not be as fast as expected to react to issues but he is calculated and meticulous. He should have studied the temperament of Nigerians as they will prefer your presence at the scene of causality even if you don’t mean your words than to send emissaries and march it with action on tackling the challenge. Some have argued that the  appointment of the presidents have being one sided… As he should have appointed an Igbo for SGF, forgetting that ordinarily the Igbo people shot themselves when they refused vehemently to return Sen.Ngige to the senate as the projection was scattered.

Just like an every day rebuilding it requires time, consciousness and a level of devotion to the Nigerian project .Seemingly that is where we are .Little wonder, why not much effort is seen to have being put due to the Colossal damage that requires ample time for the impact to manifest. The Social Security effort, war on Corruption, employment and so on are very glaring although so much more is required. Need I add that there is nothing bad in giving the young people a chance but how many young people that we have tried and tested have really passed the test. S

hould we keep sampling when there is a capable sheriff who was part of the problems, knows the architecture towards a better Nigeria. The president should as a matter of importance be flexible in his judgment for development to follow as he relies more on personal conviction, from all indication he appoints you and leaves you to deliver on the duties of your job without breathing down your neck. Indeed Nigeria is far from Eldorado, but we are not completely off the radar as the focus is critical.

Thinking outside of the box in news gathering. Relating issues without bias, fundamentally a voice to the voiceless.
