As part of activities to mark the end of their service year, the batch A 2018, corps members in Kaltungo local government organized a farewell ceremony in honour of the Mai of Kaltungo His Royal Highness Engr. Sale Mohammadu (OON) in appreciation of his effort during their service year. The CLO Jemilo Ahmed, who is a graduate of Computer Science, FUTMINNA appreciated his fellow corps members for their unity of purpose he said ” As a set Our dedication, hardwork is without doubt” we are from different parts of Nigeria but for one year we have done things in common ” . The local government inspector, Burka Yahaya who presented the award to the royal father thanked him for the peace in Kaltungo he advised the corps members “never to embark on a journey without proper authorization” out of the 70 of them that were post to this local government, all of them are passing out together without exception”. The Mai of Kaltungo, His Highness Mohammadu, in his address admonished corps members to be Ambassadors of change he said “You have not work diligently, as you know the jobs are scarce, you must genuinely create your own space as agents of change. It is on record that your set conducted a credible 2019 poll ” he said.
Meanwhile, across Gombe state corps members went to their various local governments to collect their certificates going by the “low key” National directive. The state coordinator Mr Pwanidi David markson, farewell reads in part
” You have been fully equipped for the promotion of National Unity, Sustainable development and self reliance. You must shun the get rich quick syndrome by putting to use the skills you acquired through the Skill Acquisition and entrepreneurship development programme. Do that and watch your life transform for the better. Remember, White- collar jobs are scarce .Go out there and make us proud.” he maintained.
The public relations officer Ms Margaret Dakama, noted that “ten (10) Corps members distinguished themselves in Community Development Service for initiating and executing projects in their various host communities. Out of the ten , 7 got State Honours Award and 3 Certificates of commendation while Usue Emmanuel GM/18A/0729 who served with Government Secondary School Hashidu, in Dukku Local Government Area was the overall best corps member in Community Development Service, while Corps Member Echewe Ruth Chidera GM/18A/ 1178 who served with Government Girls College ,Doma was the overall best female in Community Development Service”. “1227 has being released, with 1 serving extension” she claimed.
