The All Progressives Congress has won 19 Seats of the state  house of Assembly. Leaving the opposition PDP with 5 seats in Gombe state 24 man house of Assembly.

The election which was keenly contested by 253 candidates, was a major battle between the APC and the ruling PDP which won 5 seats, producing 2 female members of the state house of Assembly, in the next legislative year they include Billiri East constituency mrs Daniel Rabi PDP  polled 8,515 to defeat her APC rival Ankama Barnabas who garnered 8,403 and in  Shongom constituency another female candidate Mrs Ignatius Asmali M. held sway, she polled 4,911 to defeat Nuhu Kanilan of the APC who polled 4,374.

Dr. Shitu Ahmed Tajudeen, who served as collation officer for Balanga North constituency announced ABP: 157, PDP: 9, 224
APC: 17, 689, SDP: 308 with APC Buba musa being declared winner of the election.

The member elect of Gombe North constituency  Manu Aliyu Baba, of the APC, who polled 30,749 votes to defeat Haruna Ahmed Usman, of the PDP 12,723.  Hon. Manu Aliyu Baba, in an interview with Punch appreciated his constituents for the overwhelming support he said
 “We the people of Gombe are like smart phones.  We need constant upgrade to operate optimally”. Our people were tired of being in opposition.

“As members of legislature, we will not let them down”. “we will support Inuwa’s administration to  make sure Education and Health Care are improved significantly for all residents of Gombe State” he said.

The entire city of Gombe, has being agog with celebration, since the announcement of results. This recent development has changed the status of APC for some legislative years from Minority to Majority.

Thinking outside of the box in news gathering. Relating issues without bias, fundamentally a voice to the voiceless.
