Dr. Manassah Jatau, deputy Governor of Gombe state has pleaded with organized private sector to treat Postings of NYSC batch B stream 1 corps members with due consideration. He made this plea at the closing ceremony of the three weeks orientation course held at Amada, temporary NYSC camp ground. The deputy Governor who was a representative of Alh. Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, Governor of Gombe state said “I would like to call on corps employers not to reject any corps member post to them. ” The influence of corps members in the state should be seen as a blessing because of the role they play in developing our dear state. Employers must not only accept corps post to their establishment but should also provide basic needs as contained in the provisions of the NYSC act. “As a state open to investors and innovations, these young Nigerians should be accepted and given the necessary assistance to add to the growth of Gombe” he added.
The state coordinator, Mr. David Pwanidi Markson, he said “NYSC management, places priority on equipping corps members with necessary skills for self Reliance in order to Augment the allowance and enable them be employers of labour. ” Corps members are to continue with their various facilitators which will last throughout the duration of service year” he noted.
Gombe NYSC batch B stream 1 corps had a total of 1695, 901 male and 794 female corps members.
