…..Permit for both Private and commercial riders.

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Gombe state Dr. Godwin Omiko, has announced the shift in enforcement of Motorcycle, Tricycle riders permit in the state. He stated this at a stakeholders meeting held recently to sensitize motor cycle and tricycle owners, riders of both private and public.
Omiko, noted that the decision to extend the date from August 1st, to 2nd of October was solely the effort of Joint  Task Board (JTB) to enable more riders register. He maintained that the desire of the command is to capture as many riders data through registration as it is not only for revenue but to ensure security of life and property.
He said “Riders permit is not limited to Gombe state, 3,000 for 3years, and 5,000 for 5years. Anybody working against it is working against Government.
“This licensing is not peculiar to commercial riders, it is across board. This is part of our consultation with the tripartite committee, the VIO, the Board of internal revenue and FRSC.
“The JTB and FRSC having consulted from across the state with Associations, have thought it wise to extend the date to 2nd of October, 2019.
The overseer, Gombe internal revenue board Mrs Wulne Subi, who co-chaired the stakeholders parley Said “It was fruitful deliberation, at least they (riders, owners) have what to tell their people about the registration” she added.
Alh.Hassan Ahmed, state chairman Owners Association he said “The meeting was engaging as we made a case that the timing of riders permit registration was too short, which they all agreed . “We will use this medium to sensitize our members on the need to get registered. We want to encourage our members to be law abiding, because it is for our good he added”
