The State Coordinator, Gombe NYSC, Mr David Markson, yesterday declared open medical outreach in Tudun Magaji, Waziri South,Gombe. He was represented by the zonal inspector Mr Ado Taura, who noted that the Health Initiative for rural dwellers is in its fourth year and it has taken health care delivery to the door steps of rural dwellers in the area of
disease prevention, provision of first aid services, monitoring of cases and provision of appropriate referral where necessary.
He said “Do come out and benefit from the free medical service. This outreach tends to help rural dwellers prevent diseases, provide first aid services and refer beneficiaries where necessary”.
Mr Markson, commended the Corps members for the medical outreach and environmental sanitation at the Central market ,adding that the good people of Dukku deserves even better for the cordial relationship and assistance they have been according Corps members.
The Community Head of Tudun Magaji, Waziri South , Dukku LGA, Alh. Abubakar Kawuwa, also commended the efforts of Corps members for their selfless service to the people of the Community describing it as first of it kind in the community. He also commended the management of the National Youth Service Corps for sustaining the scheme and for coming up with laudable programmes that are beneficial to the general public.
” This medical outreach is the first of it kind in this community. I want to specially thank NYSC management for sustaining service to humanity. Our people will never forget this gesture” he added.
In a similar vein, some corps members were seen sweeping Dukku central market Corps as medical personnel attended to the needs of the people through free medical intervention and they also donated treated mosquito nets to the people.
