Photos: Gombe Discharges 153 additional Almajirai After Quarantine

Gombe State Government on Wednesday discharged additional 153 Almajirai from the quarantine Centre having tested negative to Coronavirus.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya who was at the camp ground for the passing out of the 153 Almajirai said it is criminal for any parent to deny his child education in all forms both western and Islamic.

He said, “The leadership of the Ulamaas were involved in the structure of managing Almajirai, Better Education Service Delivery for All in Gombe state. We are taking responsibility as their parent, we won’t allow any one to destroy the future of these children using whatever means we shall ensure they enjoy the rest of their lives.

“We shall not go complete until we bequeath a good future to these children. If they were allowed to stay where they were they won’t have got the opportunity to be tested and their parents will not know their whereabout.
“For us in Gombe Better Education Service Delivery for All has been doing alot, we shall go ahead to provide structures that will accommodate them in their location. We will take them back to their parents, provide the schools with their basic needs like we did now and sustain it for long very soon we shall be free from Almajiri, we shall be free of ignorance.”

Meanwhile Dr. Habu Dahiru Commissioner for Education said these set got a bill of clean health  after testing negative to Coronavirus.

According to him, “After discharging these set of 153 we will be left with 13 persons in the camp comprising 11 Almajirai,  and 2 travellers. The camp is managed by a team of one medical officer, three nurses, 17 RedCross personnel, 10 cleaners, 1 public health officer, 9 cooks, 1 data manager, 1 store manager and 1 Islamiya Mallam. All Almajirai on arrival after been profiled are classified according to clusters and are given lessons.”

Thinking outside of the box in news gathering. Relating issues without bias, fundamentally a voice to the voiceless.
