The Secretary to the Gombe State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi (Madakin Kaltungo) has called on the people of Kaltungo to accord the newly appointed principal officers of the Federal Polytechnic Kaltungo the much needed support for the institution to attain academic excellence.
Prof. Njodi stated this on Monday, while presenting principal officers of the newly established Federal Polytechnic to the Mai Kaltungo Engr. Sale Mohammadu at his Palace.
The SSG said, for the Polytechnic to make any meaningful progress both in academic and human capital development the people of Kaltungo must divorce any iota of sentiment and embrace who ever that has been post to oversee the affairs of the school.
Njodi paid glowing tribute to President Muhammadu Buhari for approving the establishment of the institution and called on the pioneer principal officers to work in consonance with the host community for mutual benefit and understanding.
Receiving the pioneer principal officers of the institution, the Mai Kaltungo Engr. Sale Mohammadu assured of his Chiefdom’s readiness to partner with the Polytechnic for the overall benefit of his people, the State and the nation at large.
He thanked Governor Inuwa Yahaya for wasting no time in aportioning the newly constructed Kaltungo model School as temporary sites for the take off of the Polytechnic.
The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Kaltungo Dr. Mohammed Suleiman Lame appreciated the people of Kaltungo for the warm reception extended to him and his team.
Lame promised to build a Polytechnic where her graduates can stand shoulder to shoulder with their counterparts across the country and beyond.
While calling for support from the host community, the pioneer Rector assured the people of Kaltungo that their interest in the areas of job and admission placement will be treated with equity, fairness and Justice.
Presenting the keys of the temporary site to the Rector of Kaltungo Polytechnic, the Gombe State Commissioner for Education Dr. Habu Dahiru said Governor Inuwa Yahaya place enormous premium on education and therefore charged the pioneer principal officers to key into the Governor’s policy of repositioning the sector for better and effective service Delivery.
The Rector and other Principal officers were accompanied during the visit by the Commissioner for Higher education Bauchi state Dr. Aliyu Tilde, the representative of the Emir of Bauchi, Professor Captain Amuga of MAUTEC Yola, friends, family members and well wishers.
