A member of a popular Gospel band ‘Royal Minstrels’ acclaimed for it debut Okaka, Chigozie Acholonu on Saturday, said Covid-19 has tremendous impact on gospel ministers across the divide adding that it has also helped to redirect and refocus the concentration of ministers.
Acholonu who is a graduate of Zoology and Environmental biology from Lagos State University, called on the church and government to focus on self discovery and repositioning.
The Imo State born, gospel minister added that the novel virus has helped many understand that their Primary Assignment is unto God.
He said, “Coronavirus has really affected a lot of Gospel music ministers because there is no concert, conferences etc for many . However, it is also for good because it has helped as many as possible to understand their actual Primary Assignment is unto God. It has also allowed us to see that we can also do other things alongside the Music ministry.
“It depends on so many factors, which includes; The type of Church, Area of location, The acceptability of your Concepts and contents. The Church and Government should focus more on Self discovery
Acholonu added that what distincts his four man band Royal Minstrels from other groups, is Passion.
“The fact that we do a rare genre (accapella) even when we have other stuffs, we can do but our register is the ACCAPELA,” he said.
