The Commissioner of Police Gombe State Police Command, CP. Ahmed Maikudi on Tuesday, revealed how the police in Bambam Division arrested four people for theft of Mast equipment.
He said, “The suspects invaded an MTN Mast located at Yelwa village via Bambam town, tied up the security man and removed thirty (30) pieces of 7.5volt batteries. They were sighted and pursued, luck ran out of them as their vehicle developed mechanical fault and they were subsequently arrested.
“Exhibits recovered from them includes; (i) One Sharon Bus with Reg. No. BWR 622 SA dark-green in colour (ii) Thirty (30) pieces of 7.5Volt batteries (iii) One Iron Bar (iv) One Hand Saw (v) One Iron Cutter (vi) Two sets of Screw Drivers (vii) One Iron Cable and (viii) One Ankara Wrapper. Suspects confessed to the crime.”
He added that the culprits, whose names are Yunusa Osa aged 35yrs ‘m’ of FCT Abuja, Salisu Akpara aged 45yrs ‘m’ of Kubwa Abuja, Garba Onaribu aged 38yrs ‘m’ of Dutsen Alhaji Abuja and Umar Owelo aged 28yrs ‘m’ of Kubwa Abuja were brought from FCT Abuja by their cohort, one Abraham an indigene of Bambam town, Balanga LGA of Gombe State now at large, to perpetrate the nefarious act.
