No fewer than two suspected vandals were electrocuted on Friday as they were separately discovered in different locations within the franchise areas of Jos Electricity Distribution PLC.
According to a press statement on Saturday, which was made available to our correspondent by the organization’s corporate communications head, Dr. Friday Adakole Elijah, their identities are yet to be known, adding that they were discovered in the franchise areas of Jos Electricity Distribution Company in compromised positions lifeless.
The statement partly states, “one of them was electrocuted to death on High Tension line at Dukku 33KV feeder in Gombe State.
While calling on customers to keep off power equipment, Elijah added that residents had a responsibility to protect than tamper with power installations.
“The second suspect was equally electrocuted to death in the cause of trying to vandalise Abua Yaji sub – station, 33KV Katsina-ala feeder in Benue State.
“The two incidents were promptly reported to the police in Gombe and the BCC police Division near Gboko,” the statement added.
As at the time of filing this report, men of the police force had visited the scene of the incidents and had evacuated the corpses.
