The Bala Waja of Balanga, HRH Danjuma Muhammad has warned youth to desist from stirring ethnic violence.
Muhammad stated this during the weekend when Abuja chapter, Forum of Lunguda/Waja visited his palace on peace mission and with relief materials.
He said, “By the grace of God, we are making effort to resolve the crisis. we have urged our youth leaders and we have told them to call their fellow youths to order because most of these are caused by youths, if not because of them and their radical nature this wouldn’t have happened. We called a meeting with their leaders because most of them are arrogant and don’t want peace to reign, that is their wish but we won’t allow it and we also have our clergies to pray for us and to ensure that this doesn’t repeat itself.
“The crisis started last month in Adamawa and ended here in Waja chiefdom, in affected two district in my area. We thank God that everything is back to normal which is why they came to condole us and to advise us, though before they came we held series meetings with our district heads and all of us embrace peace.”
Also speaking, former Deputy Governor’s of Gombe state, Tha’anda Rubainu and John Yoriyo further urged those responsible for the loss of lives and property to desist.
“We all know how important peace is; that without peace there won’t be any progress. Therefore we are all ready to embrace this peace, we pray for anywhere were that crisis exist that peace should reign. We also pray that this is going to be the last,” the elder statesmen said.
On his part, the leader of the Forum, Rev. Prof. Illiya Dongs, called on the monarch to ensure the perpetrators of the attack are punished.
“As they say peace is every body’s concern. Peace can never outweigh security, what motivated us was that we have been at peace with each other, knowing that there is a crisis we won’t just sit back . We thank God that peace is returning,” Dongs said.
