No fewer than two thousand four hundred and thirteen (2,413) Primary and Secondary School Teachers are to be recruited in Gombe as the committee set up by the state government on Friday,
submitted it recommendation.
Receiving the report on behalf of the Governor, the Secretary to the Gombe State Government Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi said the report will guide Government decision on who is qualified to be employed when and how the employment will be conducted.
According to him, “I want to assure the committee that Government will study the report and carefully implement its recommendations for the benefit of our children.”
He said no matter how beautiful a School may seem to be, it is incomplete without a teacher who is the think tank upon which students drew their inspiration to be useful to themselves and the society.
Njodi said the declaration of the State of emergency by Governor Inuwa Yahaya led administration was to provide a holistic approach to the education sector by providing both human and material resources to drive process of repositioning the sector.
“This committee’s report recommending the Employment of two thousand four hundred and thirteen teachers is not just a one off thing, more of such exercises are underway,” he added.
He commended the committee for completing their assignment within record time adding that members of the committee may still be contacted when the implementation gets underway.
The chairman of the committee Dr. Habu Dahiru, who is also the Commissioner for Education said members held series of meetings, consultations and on the spot assessment to enable them come up with the report.
He commended the foresight of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for setting up the committee to look into the request and recommendation to Government on the employment of two thousand four hundred and thirteen (2,413 ) graduates Teachers.
Dr. Dahiru stressed that when implemented the recruits will fill the short fall of Teachers across the State and enhance quality teaching and learning.
He said the ultra modern Teachers Training Centre in Kwami was built in anticipation of training individuals who are newly recruited as teachers into the State civil service while continually building the capacity of the ones already in service.
