Gombe spends 5.6billion on township roads project

Gombe State government, on Wednesday said the sum of N5.6 billion is being expended on its township roads project.
According to the Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr. Abubakar Bappah who addressed newsmen at a joint briefing with his colleagues in education, information, housing and water resources.
The disclosure, was a fallout of the executive council meeting presided over by the state governor, Inuwa Yahaya.
Bappah expressed the determination of Yahaya’s administration to ensure good roads in the nooks and crannies of the state.

Also speaking the Information commissioner, Alhassan Kwami, maintained that the Mega park in the state will come on stream in one year’s time, adding that the contract sum has been revised from N6.28b to N7.6b.
On his part, Water Resources commissioner, Mijinyawa Yahaya said government has done well in the area of provision of water to the people of the state adopted
He said, “Zhere was an approval of the sum of N250million as part of the state government commitment for the implementation of PEWASH programme initiated by the federal government since 2017.
“Gombe state at that time was not able to meet up with other commitments and requirements most especially the release of this fund but with this release today of 250 million naira the state is now part of the PEWASH programme which will be piloted in 4 LGAs.”
