A Socio political organization, United for Better Nigeria Initiative (UBNI), on Thursday, said the late elder statesman Balarabe Musa was a detribalised Nigerian.
The group which seeks that a president from eastern extraction will be elected in 2023, said the patriot died when his acumen is imperative for the rebirth of the Nation.
According to a press statement, which was jointly signed by Hon. Mrs Nkoli Mkparu, Coordinator General, and Dr. Sunny Okoro, Secretary General, United for Better Nigeria Initiative, said the late former governor stood against injustices.
The statement party stated, “It is with deep sense of loss but with total submission to the will of Almighty God that the National Executive Committee, (NEC), UBNi wishes to commiserate with Nigerians and in particular members of the family of one of Nigeria’s foremost nationalists, Balarabe Musa, a former Governor of Kaduna State, whose death occurred recently.
“We find solace that the demised Elder Statesman was a detribalised Nigerian, a forthright and outspoken personality who stood against tyranny, oppression and vehemently opposed such vices that held Nigeria’s progress and development down. As a fair minded Nigeria, a lover of justice and equity, he did not waste time to enlist as our member, albeit, a patron of honour: United for Better Nigeria Initiative (UBNi) and was in the forefront in championing our cause that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria should come from the South East of Nigeria, come 2023.
“Besides, His Excellency acquitted himself creditably as an astute / grassroot politician and mobiliser. He was a custodian of nationalist ideals and a rallying point of note to his generation. We really lost a gem, a friend, an adviser, a pillar, a historian, an uncompromising / vocal public speaker, and a social crusader especially now that his services would have been of a tremendous value to our noble Group and as our dear country seeks national rebirth and recovery.
“As a devoted Muslim, it is our wish that those he left behind to mourn him would be deeply consoled that he lived an impactful and simple life.”
