Bauchi vows to tackle violence against women

Bauchi state governor, Sen. Bala Muhammad on Thursday, pledged to continue to work with relevant stakeholders and groups towards ending gender based violence.
Muhammad stated this when a team of campaign against violence led by the First Lady of Bauchi, Hajiya Aisha Bala Muhammad paid him an advocacy visit.
He noted that measures have been taken to address the issue, adding that one victim is enough to propel the attention of government.
The Governor said Bauchi State under his watch has since provided a provision of law enforcement agencies to curb the menace.
He therefore appealed for the support of stakeholders, religious and traditional leaders in the state to continue to work together with security agencies.
Earlier in her remarks, Hajiya Aisha Bala Muhammad said they were at the Governor’s Office to commend him for support rendered urging him to continue with the gesture.
